I’ve learned a lot here. I’m so proud of myself for being completely on my own in a foreign country. the problem is I’m fucking sick of feeling like I have to prove that not all Americans are complete idiots. I’m sick of feeling like an outsider, and like quite a few people…
I feel like that’s the case everywhere. I know there are a lot of open minded and progressive people, but even when I moved to Michigan and Ohio from North Carolina, I didn’t feel welcome. Anyone with a hint of an accent was often made fun of or just treated bad. Keep your chin up and remember how much cooler you are than those people. : )
